Mohammed Nizamuddin, 32, died after police fired four bullets at him when they arrived at his residence. Authorities said that during a response to a 911 call, Nizamuddin was reportedly seen holding a knife over a roommate who was on the floor.
Although the incident occurred on September 3, Nizamuddin’s family only learned about it on September 18, through a friend.
