Astronomer, the company at the center of a major scandal, because of CEO Andy Byron's viral video at a Coldplay concert in Boston, issued a statement Friday announcing a formal investigation into the case.
"Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly. Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect," the statement read.
The statement did not have any mention of CEO Andy Byron or HR Kristin Cabot or the Coldplay concert. But it mentioned the name of Alyssa Stoddard, an employee of the company who allegedly was present along with the two and was aware of their affair, according to social media speculations.
When Byron and Cabot was caught on the kiss cam canoodling, forcing them to hide their faces immediately, the camera shows the grin of a person standing beside them. Social media users claimed the person was Alyssa Stoddard who was recently promoted by Cabot. Social media users were quick to jump in conclusion that the promotion was because of her complicity in the secret affair which did not remain a secret anymore.
