NEW DELHI: Air Chief Marshal A P Singh on Sunday met Prime minister Narendra Modi at his residence amid escalated tensions between India and Pakistan over Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives.
This comes a day after PM Modi held meeting with Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence in the national capital.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level security review meeting, which was attended by the heads of all three armed forces, defence minister Rajnath Singh, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
PM Modi had given freehand to the armed forces to decide on the mode, targets, and timing of the response to Pakistan. The Centre also declared that both the terrorists who carried out the attack and those who planned it would face stringent consequences.
Political parties across the opposition have pledged their full support for any government action against those responsible for the terrorist attack. During the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) briefing, evidence of cross-border links to the attack was presented.
The government has taken several strong measures to send a clear message to Pakistan regarding its role in cross-border terrorism, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty.
