' upcoming series is going to see the Hollywood star discover how "Mother Nature's Z-listers have some of the smartest survival tricks".
While he may be best known for Green Lantern, Deadpool and as the other half of It Ends With Us' Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds has taken it upon himself to try his hand at something very different.
He is going to be the star of the five-part series Underdogs which is going to delve further into the world of the animal kingdom's "unsung heroes" and the weird and wonderful ways they survive.
Each episode is going to focus on a different aspect of these creatures from their "bizarre mating strategies" and "superpowers", to their "dubious parenting skills and gross-out behaviours".
All episodes are going to be released in one go on Monday, June 16, on Disney+ and then on Wednesday, June 18, on Nat Geo Wild.

With Reynolds narrating everything that goes on in Underdogs, Disney+ has teased that the show is going to feature a range of never-be-filmed scenes.
This includes the first time a film crew has ever entered a New Zealand cave that glows thanks to millions of mucus-coated grubs.
The series is going to feature stunning imagery from some of the world's leading wildlife cinematographers and musical by award-winning composer Harry Gregson-Williams who worked on Shrek and Gladiators 2.
What's even more exciting is that iconic band Green Day are behind the theme song, also entitled Underdogs, which features in the trailer and is on their latest album Saviors.
In a statement, Reynolds said: "Getting to work with National Geographic on Underdogs was a dream come true - mostly because I can finally watch a project of ours with my children.
"Technically, they saw Deadpool & Wolverine but I don't think they absorbed much while covering their eyes and ears and screaming for two hours.
"We're so proud to elevate the unsung heroes of the natural world to the top of the entertainment food chain and can't wait for everyone to see."
Underdogs premieres on Monday, June 16, on Disney+ and Wednesday, June 18, on Nat Geo Wild.
