Man Utd 'to release three players' at end of season as contract decisions made

Manchester United are reportedly set to allow academy trio Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray and James Nolan to leave this summer. The claim that their contracts are due to expire at the end of the season and they have not been offered new deals by the club.

A number of first-team and academy players are expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, with the futures of Kingdon, Murray and Nolan already sealed. Kingdon, 19, played a key role in the Under-18s' treble-winning campaign last season and has impressed during his loan spell at Rochdale, which he joined in the winter transfer window.

It is believed that Kingdon was on the verge of joining INEOS-owned FC Lausanne Sport on loan in January before opting for Rochdale, where he has helped the team reach the National League play-offs.

The centre-back, who was born in Bolton and joined United from Morecambe for a six-figure fee in November 2020, has represented Scotland at various age levels and has participated in first-team training sessions at Carrington.

Meanwhile, Murray, 20, who joined United as a teenager from Huddersfield, has been a regular feature in the academy and recently captained the Under-21s against Wolves. He also found the net against West Ham in the PL2 play-offs on Monday.

Nolan, 19, a jack-of-all-trades on the pitch, joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle in Scottish League One on loan during the summer transfer window and has since made 33 appearances.

The youngster from Chorley has mainly been seen playing at full-back for Inverness .
