Strictly Come Dancing and Emmerdale star Gemma Atkinson has shared a huge update on her family life with fiancé Gorka Marquez. They welcomed their daughter Mia in 2019, and son Thiago in 2023 after announcing their engagement in 2021.
The pair first met on the Strictly tour for the 2017 series, with Gorka being partnered with singer Alexandra Burke and Gemma with Aljaz Skorjanec.
Gemma and Gorka regularly share updates about their family life with their two children, but now Gemma has shared news about the future of their family in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.
She revealed that she is being tested for perimenopause, the natural transition a woman experiences before she goes through menopause.
She said: "In terms of children, I'm fine with it because I always wanted two, I never wanted more and wasn't planning for more, and we've been lucky enough to have a boy and a girl.
"I'm actually having what they call a Dutch test after listening to a podcast, and it will let you know whether you are perimenopausal or not.
"I've not had any symptoms yet, I still feel okay but realistically, I'm 41 this year, and there will be changes coming."
Due to the pending changes, Gemma has grown more interested in what is going on in her body, and how she can make herself feel better.
She is releasing a skincare range as part of Gem + Tonic, something which she has called a mix between "science and nature", and features a face cream, hair mist and a moisturiser.
Gemma said: "It has been such a rollercoaster, we've had so many bumps along the way, but I really just wanted to do it for every busy woman out there, who are juggling careers and relationships and parenthood.
"For me, it has been about finding that balance with science and nature, and it's just ideal for people who don't have time for a nine step skincare routine."
Gem & Tonic will be available from 17th September at www.gemandtonicshop.com
