15 people were arrested at Oasis' first two Heaton Park gigs, as fans without tickets attempted to mount the barriers into the gig armed with a ladder. Liam and Noel Gallagher took to the stage in front of 80,000 fans over Friday and Saturday nights (July 11 and 12), but more still were attempting to sneak in undetected after failing to score tickets.
Around 50 people were spotted trying to scale a fence into the main concert area, armed with a ladder. One witness claimed to the Manchester Evening News they saw around 10 make it in successfully, but cops said: "No-one made it through to the concert area." On July 12, crowds attempted to push through the fences at Heaton Park as the band took to the stage around 8pm.
Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs.
Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused.
TikTok clips showed them running over a fallen fencing panel - but were quickly met with a taller wooden fence that they failed to scale, before police intervened.
However, others without tickets have instead headed to 'Gallagher Hill' - a nearby spot where the stage was visible through the trees and the sound was audible even for those without tickets.
Greater Manchester Police said nine arrests were made on Saturday and six on Friday, with a spokesperson confirming: "This evening, six people - five men and a woman in three separate incidents - were arrested on suspicion of fraud after attempting to access the venue with fake accreditation.
"A further arrest was made of a man on suspicion of assaulting a member of security staff.
"Two more men were arrested on suspicion of assault, one for section 18 inside the venue and one for section 47 outside."
A dispersal order is currently in place around the venue, so that officers can disperse crowds and prevent nuisance. Drones have been seized, with airspace restrictions in place to prevent any flying over the concert.
Oasis return to Manchester's Heaton Park on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday next week before heading to Wembley Stadium in London.
