UP Governor Anandi Ben Patel Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Visually Impaired Children, Honours Rajesh Singh Dayal

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a heartwarming event filled with harmony and inclusiveness took place at the Raj Bhavan in Uttar Pradesh. Governor Anandi Ben Patel celebrated the festival with hundreds of visually impaired children, accompanied by Rajesh Singh Dayal—President of the National Association for the Blind, Uttar Pradesh, founder of the Rajesh Singh Dayal Foundation, and recipient of the title "Medicine Man of UP."

The celebration began with a grand welcome for the children, personally brought to the venue and cared for by Rajesh Singh Dayal. The ceremony commenced with the Governor tying a Rakhi to Rajesh Singh Dayal, who in turn touched her feet to seek blessings.

Governor Anandi Ben Patel then lovingly tied Rakhis to the children and offered them sweets, creating a moment of pure joy. For many of these children, meeting the Governor and celebrating with her was a once-in-a-lifetime experience made possible by Dayal’s efforts.

In her address, the Governor praised Rajesh Singh Dayal for his tireless and selfless service to visually impaired and differently-abled children. She presented him with a signed copy of her autobiography, Chunautiyan Mujhe Pasand Hain, and congratulated him on being honoured for providing free health and medical services to over 1.5 lakh people.

The event was more than a festival—it stood as a symbol of compassion, social service, and inclusivity, reinforcing the values that bind communities together.
