A woman's dismembered body turned up on a beach on the , after she texted friend to say she was going to a party.
A was launched after the 41-year-old woman was found on the beach of Los Enanos, in the San Andrés area of the Canary Island. Police say her body showed "clear signs" of a violent death. She was not seen alive again after to her friend, although further details of what the message said have not yet been released. The woman was found by a person walking on the beach, who reported the horrifying discovery to the authorities.
Police believe the person who killed her, had stabbed her in the neck before trying to dismember her body. Officers from the Guardia Civil arrested the owner of a local bar in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in connection with the death. The suspect, identified only as David S, is the proprietor of the Arenales café-bar.

He was detained at his home in the Las Torres neighbourhood and is due to appear in court later today, or tomorrow. Detectives from the Guardia Civil’s Criminalistics and Homicide Units combed through the Arenales bar in search of biological evidence or other materials.
Officers in full forensic suits were seen entering and exiting the premises, collecting sealed bags of potential evidence. Police say the murder investigation is still live and they have not ruled out making more arrests.
