Loose Women anchor Kaye Adams has revealed that one of her co-stars once stopped her from getting a job. The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, 62, was back in her usual slot on the panel during Friday's episode of the ITV chat showalongside Frankie Bridge, Jane Moore and Nadia Sawalha when they were discussing times they had been intimated in life.
Kaye famously interviewed the late Margaret Thatcher during her time as Prime Minister even though she was in her early days in her career as a journalist. Jane initially assumed Kaye had been 'intimidated' by her all those years ago, and immediately asked her about it.
Kaye replied: "Oh yes! Oh my goodness, but she was very clever. She just realised how green I was so she kind of mothered me so I was completely infantilised by the whole experience."

The podcast host then revealed that she of the 'scariest interviews' she'd ever endured also took place when she was in her early twenties, and was trying to get a job from none other than Janet Street-Porter. Broadcast legend Janet, 78, was a newspaper editor in the days before she became a regular on screen, and Kaye recalled trying her luck for employment with her.
She said: "One of the scariest interviews I've ever had though was being interviewed for a job by Janet Street-Porter." An audible gasp came from the audience before Jane chipped in: "She's a pussycat!"
Kaye replied: "She wasn't then, when you're 24 and Janet Street-Porter was... Janet Street-Porter... I remember coming out of that interview and oh my God, I thought I'd been through a car wash."
Sadly, things did not go Kaye's way and she confirmed that she did not get the job. These days, Janet and Kaye have regularly appeared together as colleagues on the long-running programme. Kaye appeared on the show's very first episode in 1999 alongside fellow journalist Jane, ex-EastEnders star Nadia and Baroness Karren Brady. She left in 2002 but came back in 2013, whilst Janet joined the show in 2011 and has remained on-screen every since.
But Kaye's confession comes just days after Janet told fans how they could tell which of the Loose Women panel actually get on in real life.
During a Q+A session during her Off the Leash one-woman show at the Greenwich Theatre, London, Janet was asked: "Who's your favourite and least favourite Loose Women?"
"Easy to answer! Watch that screen carefully, watch it every day, make a chart. Who never appears with whom - that's your answer!" she replied, as she revealed all about her time on the show.
The programme is going through some difficult times at the moment as ITV change their daytime output from next year. As a result, Loose Women will only air 32 weeks of the year. But according to the former I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star, there are said to be "no plans" for ITV to axe older Loose Women panellists for younger stars.
She explained: "There are no plans to get rid of the older women, despite of what some people have said! In fact, the reverse is true. ITV actually put out a statement saying we are the valued members of the show because the audience totally relate to us.
"I think Loose Women has become a programme that's trusted by a lot of women because we talk about the issues that they are concerned about - whether it's female health, domestic violence or how politicians don't really understand working women. I think the show has managed to connect to women who wouldn't otherwise have a voice."
She added: "And it's delivered with a lot of laughs because we don't take ourselves too seriously."
