Host Naga said: "We're with you until 10 o'clock this morning and then Saturday Kitchen takes over and at the helm is Alex Jones."
The presented joked: "Hello, what an improvement. Don't tell Matt I said that."
A visibly shocked Alex replied: "Naga, she went straight in, good to see you, how are you both?"
Naga replied: "I am so not used to to seeing someone wearing something other than dark blue denim, it looks wonderful. What have you got Alex?"
The Welsh presenter went on to reveal what's coming up on Saturday Kitchen including chefs Bryn Williams, Andi Oliver and Ranveet Gill and special guest Ben Elton.
Each episode of Saturday Kitchen includes a public figure such as a celebrity, broadcaster, author or sportsperson as a key guest.
During the show, recipes are made live by a small number of profiled chefs. Each show also embeds archived clips from other cookery or food-related shows.
It's not the first time Alex has filled in for Matt to host the weekly programme with her previously hosting the show back in 2023.
The mother-of-three has previously revealed she's "no expert in the kitchen"
It comes after Matt was confirmed as a judge on the next series of MasterChef: The Professionals alongside Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti.
The three judges will also be joined by a variety of exciting guest judges in the first stage of the competition.
As Matt looks ahead to the upcoming 18th series of MasterChef: The Professionals with Marcus and Monica, he said: "It’s an absolute honour to be working alongside these two titans of the food world.
"Their knowledge and uncompromising attitude is now the stuff of legend and I look forward to them taking me under their wing and seeing the chefs get off to a flying start in the competition."
Saturday Kitchen airs weekly on BBC One at 10am
