BBC Breakfast was thrown into chaos this morning as an on-air blunder led to a guest being abruptly "cut off" mid-chat when the show faced technical trouble.
On Sunday, May 4, Roger Johnson took charge of Breakfast alone with his regular Sunday pals, and Luxmy Gopal, noticeably absent from the renowned couch.
Without an explanation, Roger soldiered on single-handedly, leaving viewers in the dark about his lone stint at the helm of the show, normally tasked with delivering the day's news and happenings nationwide.

But it wasn't all smooth sailing as Roger experienced a spot of bother during a live interview with Bob Bolton from Open Swim UK.

Chatting via video link from the sunny backdrop of Leonards-On-Sea, Bob was there to discuss the potential health perks of a dip in chilly waters, reports .
Roger had earlier enlightened audiences that despite popular opinion holding cold water dips could boost mental wellbeing, tackling issues like anxiety and depression, solid scientific evidence was scant.
He highlighted that researchers at Portsmouth University were getting their ducks in a row to dig deeper into this and were calling for volunteer study participants.
During his exchange with Bob over video, Roger tossed out a caution to those watching, stating: "I think the important thing to say and I am sure you will agree with me, it's great to do open water swimming, but it has to be done in the right way.
"We are not for one minute just advocating that people just go and jump in the nearest lake."
Bob agreed with Roger's comments on safety but added his emphasis on the incredible advantages of swimming outdoors, welcoming individuals "to do it right".
Unfortunately, a technical glitch plagued Bob's call-in, leading to his inputs coming through rather distorted and unclear. Despite efforts to discuss how recipients often expressed gratitude for the sport, Bob's transmission became so garbled that the host had no choice but to intervene.
Roger interjected with an apology: "Bob, I am so sorry."
Regretfully acknowledging the disruption, he continued: "Your audio is, we can't hear you anymore."
Taking control of the situation, Roger concluded: "I am so sorry, we'll leave it there but thank you very much indeed for taking the time to talk to us."
The segment wrapped up with Roger mentioning: "That was Bob Bolton from Open Swim UK." This was before swiftly transitioning to the next item on the program.
BBC Breakfast airs every day from 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
