According to sources in the central government, the Union Home Ministry (MHA) has instructed several states to conduct mock drills for civil defense on May 7. Students and citizens will be trained in the mock drill. Instructions have been given to conduct training and mock drills on how to survive in case of emergency, fire, air strike and firing.

 

Why did the government give these instructions?

Amid tensions with Pakistan, the government is taking this step to strengthen national security and civil preparedness. Along with this, instructions have also been given for air raid warning sirens.
