Why did Lord Vishnu take the Varaha incarnation?
According to the legend, once a demon named Hiranyaksha kidnapped the Earth and took it to the netherworld. Hiranyaksha was Hiranyakashyap's brother. Then Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of Varaah. Seeing this form of Lord Vishnu, all the gods and sages praised him. On everyone's request, Lord Varaah started searching for the Earth.
After finding the earth, he went into the sea and brought the earth out by placing it on his teeth. When Hiranyaksha saw this, he challenged Lord Vishnu's Varaah form for a fight. There was a fight between the two. In the end, Hiranyaksha died. After this, Lord Varaah stopped the water with his hooves and placed the earth on it.
