The Bazarpeth Police have arrested two individuals for allegedly possessing 110 grams of MD (Mephedrone) powder valued at ₹22 lakh. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Kaif Mansur Shaikh (24), a resident of Bail Bazar in Kalyan, and Fardeen Asif Shaikh (24), a resident of the Kongaon area in Bhiwandi.
Acting on a tip-off received on July 18, a patrolling team was moving through the APMC market area when they spotted two men behaving suspiciously. Upon questioning and searching them, the police recovered 110 grams of MD powder. The accused were taken to the Bazarpeth police station, where an FIR was registered. A case has been filed against them under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Acting on inputs, police laid a trap near the Valdhuni River in Kalyan, where Gawli was expected to deliver the contraband. He was apprehended with the drugs, and an FIR was filed against him at the Khadakpada police station.
An investigating officer said that investigations are underway to trace the supply chain and intended buyers of the seized contraband.
