Singer Adnan Sami called out the Pranaam meet-and-greet service at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), describing it as "inefficient, careless and lazy." On Saturday (May 31), Sami took to his official X account to express his dissatisfaction, citing repeated bad experiences.
"Pranaam service at Mumbai airport has become the most inefficient, careless & lazy as hell service in all of India! They couldn’t care a damn for their clients!! Awful!! So many horrible experiences. Shameful," he wrote.
The singer also urged the airport authorities to take strict action. "@CSMIA_Official needs to take serious note & pull Pranaam’s socks up - LIKE A LOT," he added.
Responding to his complaint, the official account of Mumbai Airport replied, "Dear Mr Sami, thank you for writing to us. We are really concerned to hear this. We take your feedback very seriously and have communicated it to the concerned team for their attention. The comfort, safety and well-being of our passengers is our topmost priority. - Team CSMIA."
Unimpressed by the response, the singer hit back, saying, "Nothing more insulting than a 'Standard Template Bot Reply' which ultimately means nothing."
For those unversed, the Pranaam Meet and Greet Service is intended to assist passengers with a smoother airport experience. It aims to offer a certain level of service and convenience to travelers navigating through the airport. The service offers mobility assistance and baggage handling, along with VIP protocols, to simplify passengers' travel process.
However, the singer did not specify the exact incident or details that led to his disappointment with the Pranaam service.
Sami is quite active on social media and he often shares his views and opinions on various social and political issues.
Recently, he was in news after several netizens labelled him as a "Pakistani agent" post the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, that killed 26 people. Firing back with sarcasm, he wrote, "Haan… Abhi unkareeb woh dhamaakedaar information aapko udthi hui aaee gi!! Aapko Lift Karade gi!! Enjoy (sic)."
The 55-year-old singer, who earlier held a Pakistani citizenship, came to India in 2001, and after a successful career in the country, he finally gave up the Pakistani passport and got an Indian citizenship in 2016.
When people accused him of moving to India due to financial gains, he had clarified, stating, "I’m a musician, not a politician." He had also once revealed that his Indian citizenship application was rejected twice before it was finally approved in 2016.
In the past, Sami had threatened to "expose" Pakistan on multiple occasions and he had also alleged injustice towards him by the authorities of the neighbouring country.
