Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review perpetrations for launch of unified digital ID for recovery of all civic taxes, a move aimed at toward making Indore a digitally empowered city.
The meeting was attended by IT-in-charge Rajesh Udawat, Mayor-in-Council member Rakesh Jain, additional commissioners Abhilash Mishra, Narendra Nath Pandey, Anil Banwaria, officers from various IMC departments and representatives of the company developing the portal for digitally accepting all taxes.
The proposed system will incorporate digital addresses for every property to enable a Unified Identification System, ensuring seamless service delivery. The unified ID will also be linked to the existing Sampada Portal for better coordination.
During a detailed presentation by the portal development agency, officials were informed about the portal's architecture, operational framework, and the citizen-centric services it will offer. The platform will provide multiple digital payment options, allowing residents to pay taxes at their convenience.
The portal will also streamline the internal workflow from Assistant Revenue Officers (AROs) to bill collectors and cashiers, making the entire process more transparent and efficient.
MP School Education Dept Heeds LoP Rahul Gandhi’s AdviceSpecial discussions were held on simplifying birth and death registrations, as well as the marriage registration process. A noteworthy suggestion was made to allow marriage registration even if one spouse resides in another city, using virtual presence through video calls, thereby reducing unnecessary physical hassles for citizens.
The meeting also covered plans to digitize ward-level master plans for the entire city. Under this initiative, a dedicated master plan will be created for each ward and made available on the portal for public access.
Speaking at the event, Udawat said that the new portal will not only make revenue collection more transparent but will also digitally integrate services across all departments. “This will take Indore to a new level of smart governance,” he said.
Bhargav concluded, “The unified portal is essential for realising the vision of a digital Indore, offering convenient, accessible, and transparent services to every citizen from the comfort of their home.”
