Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A former executive director of an IT based company in Rau was booked for stealing and leaking company’s credential and sensitive data, an official said on Wednesday.
Additional DCP (zone-1) Alok Kumar Sharma said that one Shiva Shekhar, a resident of Bengaluru, lodged a complaint at Rau police station stating that he is a director at Futuretech Factory One Private Limited and a former executive director of his company Ankit Chaturvedi of Mumbai, stole the company’s credential and sensitive data.
Effigies Of Trump Burned In Villages Amid Farmers’ ProtestThe accused has transferred the data from the company’s official ID to his personal ID as he had access to all sensitive data being an executive director of the company.
Later, the accused leaked the data to gain monetary benefit. The accused was demanding money from the company for the same.
The company’s management came to know about the data theft as the company’s system has an automatic screen recorder which records all the activities of data transfer and the accused also allegedly confessed to transfer the data.
The police registered a case of theft and data theft under relevant sections of BNS and IT Act and further investigation is underway.
