Rice
Arhar dal
Oil
Ghee
Mustard
Cumin
Asafoetida
Red chilli
Curry leaves
Black pepper
Garlic
Green chilli
Onion
Tomato
Red chilli powder
Coriander powder
Turmeric
Sambhar masala
Salt
Method
- First of all, keep arhar dal and rice in a vessel to soak in water. Now keep the tamarind in a bowl to soak in water.
- After this, put oil and ghee in a cooker. Now add cumin, mustard, red chilli, curry leaves, black pepper, garlic, and green chilli and fry it well.
- After this, add thickly chopped onion and tomato to it. Now add red chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, sambar masala, and salt and mix well.

- After frying the spices, now add soaked rice and lentils to it. Now add three times the amount of water as rice and put the lid on the cooker.
- Now filter the soaked tamarind and separate its water and add it to the rasam rice. Rasam rice is ready.
- Now garnish it with coriander leaves. After this, add ghee to it and serve it.
