NSE Q4 Results: Cons PAT rises 7% YoY to Rs 2,650 cr

India's leading exchange NSE on Tuesday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,650.11 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2025 which was up 7% from Rs 2,487 crore reported in the year ago period. The revenue from operations stood at Rs 3,771 crore in Q4FY25 versus 4,625 crore for the corresponding quarter of last year, witnessing an 18% fall.

The board of directors of NSE in their meeting held on May 6, 2025, have recommended a final dividend of Rs 35 per equity share for the year ended March 31. 2025. This includes a special one-time dividend of Rs.11.46 per equity share.

On a sequential basis, the profit after tax (PAT) was down 31% over Rs 3,834 crore in the year ago period. Meanwhile, revenue from operations too fell 13% sequentially from Rs 4,349 crore reported in the October-December quarter of FY25.

The operating Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) fell 8% YoY and 18% sequentially to Rs 2,799 crore in the quarter under review versus Rs 3,036 crore in Q4FY24 and Rs 3,398 crore in Q3FY25.

The operating EBITDA margin in the said quarter stood at 74% versus 78% in Q3FY25 and 66% in Q4FY24.

NSE's expenses grew 10% YoY to Rs 1,119 crore in Q4FY25 while declining by 1% on a QoQ basis. The exchanges 25% higher on technology incurring a cost of Rs 304 crore in Q4FY25 versus Rs 243 crore in the year ago period. The expenses jumped 13% on the QoQ basis versus Rs 270 crore in Q3FY25.

NSE's income from transactional charges fell 22% YoY and 15% QoQ to Rs 2,939 crore in Q4FY25 as against Rs 3,745 crore in Q4FY24 and Rs 3,445 crore in Q3FY25. This accounts for 67% of NSE's overall income. However, for full financial year, income from transactional charges stood at Rs 13,623 crore, up 12% over Rs 12,120 crore in FY24.

Income from listing services stood at Rs 67 crore, up 18% from Rs 57 crore in the year ago period. However, it fell 32% on a sequential basis from Rs 99 crore in Q3FY25.
