The Punjab Kings (PBKS) are taking on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala. LSG needed to chase 237 runs in the 20 overs to secure their sixth victory of the IPL 2025.
The eighth over was bowled by Azmatullah Omarzai to the LSG batters Ayush Badoni and the skipper . The left-hander on the strike came down the pitch to loft the ball, but the bat flew away from his hands to the square-leg region. The ball was sliced straight to Shashank Singh at the sweeper cover, and the fielder completed an easy catch.
The wicketkeeper batter looked in disbelief and muttered something while looking at the sky. PBKS bowlers were completely on top of the Lucknow batters.

In the first innings, opener Prabhsimran Singh smashed 91 runs off 48 deliveries which included six fours and seven maximums. The PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer scored 45 runs off 25 balls. Josh Inglis (30 off 14), Nehal Wadhera (16 off 9), Shashank Singh (33 off 15), and Marcus Stoinis (15 off 5) did their part in bringing the commanding total of 236.
For LSG, Akash Maharaj Singh is the most economical bowler who picked up two wickets and just gave away 30 runs. All other bowlers went for more than 40 runs in their four-over spell. Mayank Yadav bowled one of the most expensive spells of IPL (4-0-60-0) in his bowling.
PBKS are fourth in the points table with six wins and will aim to secure a victory in front of their home crowd at Dharamsala. This win will help the Shreyas Iyer-led team get close to the playoff stage.
