Sunrisers Hyderabad are out of for all practical purposes, but they will welcome the opportunity to rain on a few parades. Like on Delhi Capitals whom they will host for Match No. 55 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Monday, May 05.

DC won four games in a row to start their season and proceeded to lose four of their next six matches - the last two in a row. DC's last match was against KKR in Delhi. All of KKR's batters got starts but couldn't convert it into a very big score as Axar Patel and Vipraj Nigam constricted the visitors' middle order. Patel joined his deputy Faf du Plessis in the chase after the loss of early wickets and made a very important partnership. Sunil Narine prised them both out and KKR had found their way back. Vipraj Nigam hit some boundaries towards the end but couldn't do enough to take his team home.

SRH got pulverized by GT in Ahmedabad in their last game. As they have all season, GT rode on performances from their top 3 with Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler getting fifties while B Sai Sudharsan narrowly missed out on his. From SRH, Abhishek Sharma was the only one to get a score of any substance, as Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj's bowling in tandem consigned them to another defeat.

Along with ruining DC's party, SRH will also be gunning to settle some scores, as DC had gotten the better of the Orange Army in the reverse fixture in Visakhapatnam. Aniket Verma had to take up the mantle of pulling SRH out of a muddle that Mitchell Starc's powerplay wickets had put them in. Kuldeep Yadav put a stop to any recovery plans the lower middle had, and Starc completed his fifer. Faf du Plessis made fifty in very quick time to help DC waltz through their target with over four overs to spare.

The different strips used at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad have given different scores, so predicting an exact score is not easy. If the flatter surface is chosen to play the game, bowling first would be an ideal option, since chasing is touted to be an easier task at the venue.

Player battles to watch out for in SRH vs DC, Match 55, IPL 2025 1. KL Rahul vs Mohammed Shami image KL-Rahul. (Photo source: X)

Over the years, Rahul has found trouble putting Shami away in the IPL. Rahul has made just 43 runs in 35 balls at a strike rate of 122.85 while being dismissed twice at an average of 21.50.

2. Travis Head vs Mitchell Starc  image Mitchel Starc (Source: IPL/X)

It has been well-documented that Head prefers to not take strike while opening when Starc is in the opposition. And the Southpaw from Adelaide has more than a good reason to do so. In the IPL, Starc has dismissed Head in both the matches that he has bowled to the opener. Head has made just 10 runs in 7 balls with a strike rate of 142.85 at an average of 5.00.
