Volkswagen has officially begun accepting bookings for the much-anticipated Golf GTI in India, starting May 5, 2025. One of the most iconic hatchbacks from VW’s global lineup, the Golf GTI is coming in as a CBU. Bookings are now live exclusively on the Volkswagen India website. Deliveries are slated to commence next month through select dealerships.

Under the hood, the GTI packs a serious punch. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. The hot hatch also benefits from an electronically controlled front-axle differential lock. According to Volkswagen, the Golf GTI can dash from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds, with a top speed electronically capped at 250 kmph.
On the design front, the GTI sports signature red accents, an illuminated VW logo, X-shaped fog lamps, and 18-inch diamond-cut ‘Richmond’ alloy wheels. It also comes equipped with twin chrome exhausts and exterior ambient lighting that includes welcome and goodbye effects.
As for the interiors, a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system sits alongside a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The GTI also features a panoramic sunroof, 30-colour ambient lighting, leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, paddle shifters, and a wireless charger. Other premium touches include a three-zone climate control system with rear AC vents and IDA voice control. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and ChatGPT integration are also on offer.
In terms of safety, the car gets seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian monitoring, front and rear disc brakes, electronic front differential lock, and a rear-view camera with park distance control.
