The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially released the schedule for JoSAA counseling 2025. According to the schedule, the registration and choice-filling process for the centralized counseling process for admission to the leading engineering colleges of the country will start on June 3. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of JoSAA,. Only those candidates who have passed JEE Main 2025 or JEE Advanced 2025 can participate in this counseling.
The counseling process will be conducted in a total of 5 rounds, in which the final (sixth) round will be for IITs only. When the regular JoSAA counseling round is completed, an extra counseling round will be conducted for the NIT+ system.
When will the JEE Advanced result be released?
The result of the JEE Advanced 2025 exam conducted by IIT Kanpur will be declared on June 2, 2025. When the result is released, candidates can check it on the official website of JEE Advanced, jeeadv.ac.in. At the same time, candidates who pass the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) can fill in AAT-specific options from June 8 after the declaration of the result.
The first round of seat allocation is on June 14
According to reports, the first mock seat allocation will be published on June 9, which will be based on the options submitted till June 8. At the same time, the second mock seat allocation will be released on June 11, in which students will get a chance to choose their final option and lock them. The last date for filling and locking the options is June 12, while the first round of seat allocation after verification will start on June 14.
At the same time, the last date for the candidate to respond to the questions and pay the fee (Round 1) is June 18, 2025. If the candidates face any problem related to fee payment, then the date for its resolution has been fixed as June 19, while the last date for answering the questions (Round 1) is June 20.
The second round of seat allocation will start on June 21, 2025, and the last date for its fee payment is June 25. Similarly, the third round will start from June 28 and the last date for its fee payment is July 2.
Why is this counseling done?
The purpose of this counseling process is to allocate seats for B.Tech in top engineering institutes including the Indian Institute of Technology i.e. IIT, National Institute of Technology i.e. NIT, Indian Institute of Information Technology i.e. IT and other government-funded technical institutes (GFTI).
