DA hike July 2025: There is good news for central employees. Because the central government can soon increase its dearness allowance (DA- Dearness Allowance). It is claimed that the government can give the gift of 4% DA increase to the employees (central government employees) this time. This means that those whose basic salary is Rs 18,000 will get about Rs 720 more every month. At the same time, those who get higher salaries will get direct benefits of thousands.
DA is increased twice a year.
The government increases dearness allowance twice every year. The first increase comes into effect from January 1, which is usually announced in March. At the same time, the second increase comes into effect from July 1, which is announced in September. It is believed that this time the increased DA can be available from July 1, 2025. Although the official announcement is yet to be made, the central government can put it in the cabinet soon.
One crore employees benefit
The decision to increase DA is based on the AICPI index, which is released every month by the Ministry of Labor. According to the latest data, an increase has been seen in the index, due to which a 4% increase is considered certain. After this increase, the total dearness allowance will be 50%.
If this happens, then according to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, the implementation of the new pay structure can also be considered. About 1 crore central employees and pensioners are expected to benefit from this. Due to the increase in inflation rate, this step will give some relief to the pockets of the employees.
Eighth pay can also be implemented
The government gave a big update on the Eighth Pay Commission on Monday i.e. 21 July. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that the commission will be constituted soon, but the notification has not been issued yet. This means that it is expected to be implemented from January 1, 2026.
The process of setting the terms for the commission is going on. Employee organizations say that this will benefit 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners. A 25-30% increase in salary is expected.
